Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was developed by Neversoft for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while the Wii version of the game was developed by Vicarious Visions and Budcat Creations has developed the PlayStation 2 version. Aerosmith obviously features the likenesses and music of the American rock band Aerosmith as well as music from bands that have toured with or influenced Aerosmith. Venues featured in the game will highlight different points in the band's popular career. Guitar Hero: Aerosmith will follow the career of Aerosmith, by playing significant songs in their catalog in a 'rough chronological fashion'.The gameplay will follow the band through various periods in its 30+ years history, spanning from its first show at Mendon Nipmuc Regional High School in 1970 to the 2001 Super Bowl halftime show. The entire Aerosmith band participated in motion capture to accurately recreate their moves digitally for the game.The player starts as Joe Perry, and later unlocks Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton.
Even though the player will be able to play as Aerosmith, they will start the setlists as the original band from Guitar Hero III with a rhythm character added as the opening act. After the player has played a song with the characters from Guitar Hero III, Aerosmith will make a dramatic entrance and the player will start the journey through Aerosmith's career.
The game has some improvements like better hammer-ons and pull-offs,but there will not b a co-op career mode. The game's interfaces and menus have also been redesigned. Guitar Hero Aerosmith is to be released in Europe on June 7th, then in the US on June 9, 2008. Prices should be $49.99 to $59.99 new, but watch for bargains on this site.
